FootEase began because a nurse was tired of coming home with aching feet after every shift. Today, FootEase keeps thousands of people across the UK comfortable from morning to night.

Former community nurse. Based in Sheffield. Spent twenty-two years on her feet — and tried more "comfortable" shoes than she can count before finally refusing to settle for sore feet.
The shift that started it all
Twenty-two years as a community nurse. Twelve-hour shifts, most of them spent on my feet. And at the end of nearly every one, the same thing: I'd get home, ease my shoes off, and my feet would be aching — rubbed raw at the heel or squeezed at the toes.
I tried the "comfort" brands. I tried the expensive ones and the cheap ones and everything in between. Most were made to look tidy in a shop window, not to carry someone through a real day on their feet. The moment you actually walked a few miles in them, they gave up.
One afternoon my mum — in her seventies — told me she'd stopped going out for her morning walk. "Nothing fits right anymore," she said, "everything rubs or pinches, so I just don't bother." That sentence stayed with me for months.
So I set the nursing bag down for a while and started designing instead.

FootEase isn't a fashion label that happens to sell shoes. Every pair is built around one question: does it still feel good after a full day on your feet? A double shift, the school run, an afternoon pottering around town, a proper walk at the weekend — if it doesn't hold up, it doesn't make it into the shop.

When I hung up my nursing badge to build FootEase, more than one person told me the shoe market was already full. Maybe it is. But I wasn't trying to out-shout the big names — I just wanted to make the pair my patients, my colleagues, and my mum had been asking for without quite knowing it.
